Alsco Camp! =)

i m here to update about the Alsco camp! finally updating about it!!!

Day 1
To be honest, when i was in the car on the way to college, i was very lazy to go for the camp. Homework, studies, sleep, everything was in my head till i did not feel the mood for camp. However, after seeing everyone in their a levels t-shirt gathering at the foyer, i felt better. The juniors were separated into 6 groups by the names of The Incredibles, Spiderman, Batman, Cicakman, Transformers and Superman. I was in The Incredibles and my team leader was The cute Yuan Teng, the members were Stephanie, Harendren, Xian Tze, Hui yee and Lorenzo as the second in command. =)

In the bus, i saw jia xin doing maths questions and i was like WHAT? YOU BROUGHT HOMEWORK TO DO ???!!! then i felt guilty and regretted not bringing any homework to camp. but after all, there wasn't any time to do any homework. Anyway, I had lots of fun bonding with everyone. I realized that ming wai is quite lame and Mark is his cousin, hence, the lameness is in his blood too! XD Some of their jokes managed to make me laugh but some was like just -,-'' =) it was really fun! 1 hour passed by very quickly in the bus, i wanted to nap but did not managed to in the end.

anyway, cut the crap, the first ice breaker game was fun. It really test ur memory and thinking skills.First game was arranging ourselves in a line and we have to get to the other side. it's like that:

A | B | C | D | | E | F | G

has to be like this:

E | F | G | | A | B | C | D

the space in between is for the person to walk forward.

The next game was everyone has to arrange themselves according to the birthday dates from Jan 1 to Dec 31 without any sound. No talking , No whispering! It was quite cool. This needs lots of cooperation and understanding skills. =) The following game was cooler. Everyone was asked to spontaneously create a sound which can be repeated many times. Then ming wait acted as the conductor and created different types of music. Ming Wai said that the music we created can never be created in exactly the same way we did it, even if it's with the exact same group of people.

After that, we had tea break and then it was time for the obstacle challenge. WOW, after like for god knows how long i havent been exercising, suddenly have to duck walk in the river, run in the river, run up the hill, commander crawl, overcome obstacles, my muscles are aching shit right after the obstacle course. But it was very fun. N it's a super good form of exercise!

At night, we had the night walk. Before walking to the jungle, the facilitators scared us by telling us that unusual things happened before during the night walk. For example, they went in with 50 people but came out with 51 people. that's creepy! i have always been afraid of the dark and we were going to pass through a cemetery. Gosh! but i did not look at the direction where the cemetery was to make things less scary for me! =) Anyway, the night walk were done in groups. Each group walks into the forest by themselves, the front person touching and following the raffia string as a guide. Lorenzo led our team. He was so considerate to keep asking whether we were alright. =) while walking, i saw this white thing *facilitator wearing a white cloth n a mask* as tall as me in front. i kinda expected it to be them but it's a normal human reaction to still be afraid of them. I heard Haree shouting, " ARGH! ARGH!!" then only i realized that the facilitator was actually pulling Haree. I pity him for being the last but he was such a gentlemen to volunteer to be the last. This night walk really bonded my team together. it was seriously fun! =) after the nighwalk, the facilitators told us funny moments of people when they were walking in the forest. According to them, someone said," DON'T TOUCH ME! I'LL TELL MY MOTHER!" to the "ghost", another person kept on saying," OMG OMG OMG OMG!" * i think that was mun wai* hahaha! it was really funny. N Adli actually kicked one of the "ghost"!

Day 2
We played the ice breaker game 2. The first game was the Shoe Game where everyone's right shoe was randomly put or tied together. The first team whose members wore the shoes and sat down again wins! my shoe was very near to me so i kinda like found it within 30 seconds. =D

The next game was some Blindfold Game where only the leader can see n instruct the members the direction to reach the end point to get some prizes with only using 1 animal sound. my team imitated the duck sound, Quack! Quack means turn left, Quack Quack means turn right, QUACKKKKKKKKKKKK! means squat down and Quack Quack Quack Quack Quack means move forward. i forgotten the standing up one. XD the other team used miao n *i forgotten*. hehe! At the end, Ainaa was pulled away from her team and climbed up the chair and then the wall.

After that, we played the porcupine game where u have to throw the stuff within 3 s but this one, u have to say the name of the person who threw it to you. It's really mind boggling to throw and think of the person's name at the same time. in the end, jessica, michelle and shawn were punished for either forgetting the persons name or not throwing the stuff properly. =) jessica sang a korean song twice, one with action while other just singing. Michelle sang i love you barney song n shawn imitated some of the seniors.

It's getting wet time! it was supposed to be river crossing but it ended up to be lake/pond crossing. it looked really difficult to do but it turned out not bad and on the other hand quite fun! anyway, u are supposed to cross the pond using your legs and hands over a rope. A lot of them got rope burn but luckily i did not get it! phew! After that was rafting. This is seriously tiring.! there were 7 of us on the raft with only 2 paddles. the other 5 had to use their hands to paddle. Our team was fast! good teamwork! =)

After that was lunch and freshening up. Then it was ice breaker 3. It was Alsco camp idol. My team got to do rapping with the word Alsco. We only had 10 mins to discuss. Apparently it was not bad. We even tied up with the winner which was a group which danced the Hindi dance. =)

i'm getting so lazy to blog about camp edi. so from here onwards it just going to be super not in detail. =)

After that, we had a promotion and sales game where each team is suppose to pick an item and promote it. 2 teams played at one time. The buyers will be the teams that are not participating in that game. Out team won the Cicakman! We sold a pencil box whereas they sold a fire extinguisher.

Campfire was next. Each team was suppose to do a presentation about the camp. the campfire was quite big. it's all thanks to sharm, adli and andrew. =)

NEXT, SOLO DROP! i have so many things so say about the solo drop but i m so tired n lazy . i was really afraid of the dark and to be alone in the dark forest was like seriously bad. in addition, i was next to the river. the flowing sound makes my imagination go wild sometimes and i will start imagining things. i actually counted till 15 mins passed then i gave up. i was really sleepy and exhausted as it was already 1 am so i think i fell asleep for like a few sec before fear woke me up again. while i was waiting for them to pick me up again, i heard a 'bloop!' from the river direction. i got nervous, i started thinking of snakes n leeches or some wild animals. it was not a good experience. After dunno how long, the facilitators finally turned up to assemble us again. you can never imagine how glad i was! then we started discussing about each others experience. then suddenly,

Steph: " eh elaine, do u see a white thing there? is it a person ar?"
elaine: " haha! i dun wanna see, i dun wanna know, dun tell me ANYTHING!"
*actually i saw, it was just to bring my mind away from wondering what it was*
Steph: " oh shit!"
then we continue talking, then suddenly, the white thing moved...
the white thing walked towards us and said," hello, i'm christabel la!"
both of us were so relieved!

When we reached our dorm, the facilitator did a head count, and realized that 2 were missing. It was Michelle and Sherrina. In the end, it was all a set up and i couldn't believed that i actually fell for it. Apparently it was quite obvious and almost everyone knew. -,- however, it was still a good lesson to everyone of us. it shows that we should always be observant to our surrounding and keep track whether our friends are with us at all times. n OMG! i can't believe that i actually lost my number 2 time straight! we were each given a number before entering the jungle. The first time was during the night walk, i was holding the number on my hands as my pants had no pockets on them. Both stephanie and my number dropped. they scared us by saying that those who have no numbers will be left in the jungle. The second time was during the solo drop.i learnt my lesson by not holding it on my hand anymore, instead i put it into my left shoe. Accidentally, Hui yee stepped on my shoe and my leg slipped out and the number dropped out!!! n i din realize... until i was walking halfway. so yea, i got called out the second time and stood in front of everyone for nothing.

Day 3
The day started with some morning exercise led by a facilitator. He knew that our thigh muscles were aching but he still had to ask us to do some squat and stay exercise. it was a torture! haha! After that was treasure hunt, something went wrong, somehow the clues were not right and hence my team got stuck at one place for 45 mins... -,- but we still did not get last place because another team got stuck at the same place as us for 1 hour.

Ice breaker 4 was kinda messy. but it was funny! Each group consist of 7 -8 members were supposed to act as a car with someone as a member. and we were supposed to go pass the road which has crazy motorist, injured people, old man(lorenzo), couple reuniting(jon and lesley), ambulans and policeman(sharm). We also had to pass traffic lights( divya and siao chien) which kept yelling blue blue blue, red red red, pink pink pink pink pink, yellow yellow yellow, and go go go go.

the next game was to get as many signature from the seniors as possible within a time limit. However, it's not that simple, each senior will ask the team to do something before agreeing to sign. Jon requested a guy(Mark) from my team to pole dance and a girl(Ainaa) to act as a guy. it was hilarious, Mark is a good pole dancer! XD

It started to rain and hence, the departure time was delayed. We reached the campus at 7 pm when we were supposed to reach at 5 pm.

The camp was an awesome camp, i'm really glad that i came for this camp. Although a lot of people preferred that the camp should not have been held before the results of the new committee were announced, i still think that it was a good think that it was held before. i got to meet many new people and make lots of friends. It's really a camp that should not missed.

Next post will be messages to individual people. =)
